W. Stewart Peery, IV is a Charlotte, NC native who recently returned to the Queen City. After graduating from Charlotte Country Day School in 1998, he attended Middlebury College in Vermont. At Middlebury he majored in Biology, minored in Music, and was involved in many music, outdoors, and athletic clubs and activities. In 2002 Stewart completed his B.A. and graduated Cum Laude with High Honors in Biology.

Stewart's next destination was Cuyahoga Valley National Park in Ohio. Here he spent two years; first as a Field Instructor and then as a Program Assistant (PA), both of which entailed working with a wide variety of schools and teachers in an environmental education program. One aspect of the PA position was helping plan and run a professional development program for teachers, and during this Stewart began dabbling in web design. His responsibility was to create from stratch and maintain a website for the program. With very little training, Stewart built the website and it is still being used today (there is a link on the SP4 Projects page). Ever since his first web site, he has maintained an active interest in web design/authoring and constantly seeks to improve his skills.

After spending two years in a progressive, environmental program, Stewart decided to move to a traditional classroom setting. In 2004 he returned to Charlotte to take a science teacher position at his alma mater, Charlotte Country Day. He teaches biology and ecology courses at the Upper School. While his main focus is his teaching career, Stewart has designed four web sites during since returning to Charlotte (check them out on the SP4 Projects page).
